Gunner

STA Heza Top Gun Runner

“Gunner” — The All-Around American Miniature Shepherd

Gunner beautifully captures everything the American Miniature Shepherd is meant to be: an athletic, highly capable sports partner, a proven producer, and a deeply devoted companion. Bred right here at Shade Tree Aussies, Gunner is the son of Cindy (STA Sheza Little Red Racer) and Kibo (Outbacks Highway To The Danger Zone), inheriting the very best of his parents’ drive, intelligence, and structure.

While Gunner belongs to a wonderful friend who treasures him as a beloved family member, we are incredibly grateful that they allow us to use this outstanding male as an occasional sire in our breeding program.

Stats & Health

  • Color: Black Tri
  • Height: 13.5 inches
  • Weight: 13 lbs
  • Health Clearances: Gunner has tested clear for all diseases common to the breed, plus an extensive extended panel. Full health testing results are happily available upon request.

In the Ring & On the Stock

Gunner is an accomplished, multi-venue competitor who excels across a diverse range of dog sports. A natural athlete, he remarkably qualified and competed at the CPE Nationals before he was even 2 years old. He continues to prove his versatility time and time again with titles spanning herding, agility, and disc:

  • Herding: AKC Herding Tested (HT). When working ducks, Gunner shows a brilliant transition of gears. Once the initial excitement settles, he becomes incredibly methodical, focused, and naturally drives his stock with quiet precision.
  • CPE Agility: Two-time CPE Agility Trial Champion (2x C-ATCH).
  • NADAC Agility: Elite level titles.
  • AKC Agility: Novice Jumpers (NAJ) and Standard (NA).
  • UpDog Challenge (Disc): BronzeUp achievement.

The Next Generation (Offspring Accomplishments)

Gunner is not just a performer; he is a producer. His puppies are already stepping into the rings and lanes, inheriting his signature biddability and athletic talent:

  • Maple: Has just earned her Flyball Dog (FD) title.
  • Danni: Proving her speed in multiple venues with her AKC Novice Jumpers and Flyball Dog (FD) titles.
  • Blaze: Starting his sports career strong by earning his Level 1 title in CPE Agility.

At Home

When the working gear comes off, Gunner is a very loyal and loving pet. He is deeply devoted to his family, perfectly content to relax by your side, but always retains that classic, fun-loving Aussie spirit—remaining ready to play at the very drop of a ball.

Planned Litters & Inquiries

We occasionally plan litters sired by Gunner here at Shade Tree Aussies. Because he lives off-site with his owner, his availability for outside stud service is limited, but we are always happy to discuss his future breeding plans.

If you are interested in a puppy from a future Gunner litter or have questions about his pedigree, please visit our Contact Page or reach out to us directly at shadetreeaussies@gmail.com or by calling us between 7 am and 7 pm Central Time at 405-240-7560
